We now offer two weekly tours at the Weeping Radish.
Both are hosted by our owner Uli Bennewitz!
Beer and Brat Tour
Every Tuesday at 11 am. Reservations recommended.
This tour is normally given by Uli, starting with the history of N.C.’s oldest brewery and the evolution over the last 30 years from Reinheitsgebot Beer to Reinheitsgebot food. Every one of the beer samples is also served with a sausage sample from the in house butchery as well as a sample of house made curry ketchup and beer mustard. The tour begins on the viewing platform overlooking the brewery and ends with a tour of the artisan butchery facility with smokehouse.
Duration 60 minutes, Cost $10 for everybody above 14 years. Three 3 oz. samples of beer (root beer sample for the under 21 year olds) together with three sausage samples.
Every Wednesday at 11 am. Reservations recommended.
This tour is normally given by Uli, whereby he goes through the history of the law change in 1985, which allowed breweries to flourish now all over North Carolina. The tour not only describes the brewing process with a view from the platform overlooking the brewery, but it also goes into the idea of local food and the reason, why the Weeping Radish was one of the first integrated farm brewery and butcheries in the south.
Duration 35 minutes, Cost $5 for everybody above 14 years. Three 3 oz. samples of beer (root beer sample for the under 21 year olds)
